John Gordon Collier was the former Chairman of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and the first Chairman of Nuclear Electric which was set up to run the nuclear power stations in England and Wales. In 1990 he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society. He was also a one time President of the Institute of Chemical Engineers. In 1995 he delivered a lecture at the Royal Academy of Engineers.
