Simon Richard Marks, 3rd Baron Marks of Broughton was born on 3 May 1950. He is the son of Michael Marks, 2nd Baron Marks of Broughton and Ann Catherine Pinto. He married Marion Norton, daughter of Peter F. Norton, on 9 November 1982. He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.
