Michelle Thomson has been the Scottish National Party Member of Parliament for Edinburgh West since May 2015. [1]
Thomson defeated the Liberal Democrats candidate Mick Crockart, who had held the seat since 2010 [2], with a majority of 3,210. [3]
In May 2015 Thomson was appointed shadow SNP westminster group leader for business, innovation and skills. [1]
