Michael Ellis has been the Conservative Party MP for Northampton North since 2010. [1] In the 2015 general election, Ellis retained his seat with a majority of 3,245.

Since February 2011, Ellis has been a member of the Home Affairs Select Committee of the House of Commons and he was also appointed parliamentary advisor to the chairman of the Conservative Party Andrew Feldman in September 2012. [2]

In 2014 Ellis was successful in his campaign against potholes. He has also more recently won government support for his Medical Innovation Bill. Ellis is currently working on this Bill with Maurice Saatchi, with the aim to make it 'easier for doctors who have both the fully-informed consent of their patients and the go-ahead of a Multi-disciplinary panel, to innovate in the treatment of cancer patients, seeking to achieve improved outcomes for patients and their families.' [2]
