Captain Anthony Pollen was a member of the Coldstream Guards. He was shot dead by republicans on 14 April 1974, while attempting to photograph a demonstration in Derry's Bogside. According to journalist Mark Urban, he was a member of the Londonderry Detachment of 14 Intelligence Company at the time.[1]
According to researcher Ciarán MacAirt, Pollen was the Military Intelligence officer with the 2 Coldstream Guards who interviewed Brian Nelson after he was arrested on 25 March 1973.[2]
