Bechtel Corporation (Bechtel Group) is the largest construction and engineering company in the USA,[1] ranking as the 5th-largest privately owned company in the US.[2] Its headquarters are in the Financial District of San Francisco.[3] As of 2010, Bechtel had $27.9 billion in revenue and employed 52,700 workers on projects in nearly 40 countries.[4]

Water operations
Aside from its work in other sectors Bechtel is fast gaining an unwanted reputation in its water operation as an inefficient supplier of water. In Ecuador Bechtel stands accussed of increasing bills whilst failing to fulfill the promises it makes to win the intial contract granted in 2002.[5]
