Operation Abelard II was an investigation into the 1987 murder of private detective Daniel Morgan. The investigation commenced in March 2006. In 2008, ; Jonathan Rees, James ‘Jimmy’ Cook, and brothers Garry and Glenn Vian were charged with the murder of Daniel Morgan. A fifth man, Sidney Fillery, a former police officer accused of interfering with the investigation into the murder, was charged with perverting the course of justice.
