The Panel on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) is usually known as the GMO Panel. It is the panel of the European Food Safety Authority that issues scientific opinions on genetically modified (GM) crops and foods. Based on these opinions, the EU authorities vote on whether to approve or reject a GM crop or food.
