Paul Douglas (1892-1976) was a Democratic Senator from Illinois from 1948 to 1966. he chaired the Citizens Committee for Peace with Freedom in Vietnam from 1967 to 1970, but became more critical of the Vietnam War after publication of the Pentagon Papers in 1971.[1]
