Freie Demokratische Partei - Die Liberalen (Free Democratic Party - the Liberals) is a centrist German political party that advocates individualism, capitalism, and social reform. Although it has captured only a small percentage of the votes in national elections, its support has been pivotal for much of the post-World War II period in making or breaking governments, by forming coalitions with or withdrawing support from larger parties.[1]
