Stephan Schmidheiny is a key figure in the business lobby for sustainable development and CSR. Schmidheiny was instrumental in organising the business lobby on sustainable development at the Rio Earth Summit in 1992, [2] where he was Principal Advisor for Business and Industry to the summit's Secretary General, Maurice Strong.
