Eurometaux or the European Alliance of Metals is the main lobbying body for the European non-ferrous metals industry, coordinating national organisations into a single lobbying voice for maximum collective influence. Eurometaux shares offices close to the European Commission in Brussels with the European Aluminium Association, one of its key members. They focus on regulatory matters, particularly in four main areas: trade, environment health and safety, energy and climate change, and communication.[1].

Lobbying

In June 2011 Eurometaux was criticised by the Alliance for Lobbying Transparency and Ethics Regulation for failing to register its lobbying activities or expenditure on the voluntary EC Lobbyists Transparency Register, despite being one of the 40 largest lobbying organisations in Brussels.[2] Later in June 2011 Eurometaux added their entry on the register which claims that 12.5 people are engaged in lobbying activities, two of whom have Parliamentary Passes (Guy Thiran and Annick Carpenter. They claim to have spent €400000 - €450000 on lobbying in 2010.[3]
