The Conservative Family Institute was an organisation created by Adrian Rogers. In 1997 Rogers ran against the openly gay Labour candidate Ben Bradshaw in Exeter. He argued that homosexuality was 'sterile, disease-ridden and God-forsaken'.[1] The Conservative Family Institute was closed in 1999 following criticism from inside the Conservative Party.[2]
