Sam Nunn
Sam Augustus Nunn, Jr. (Date of birth 8th September 1938, Georgia USA). Nunn is married to Colleen O’Brien and has two children.
Education
He attained an undergraduate degree in 1960 at Emory University. He then continued his studies and graduated with a law degree from Emory University’s School of Law.[1] [2]
Career/Positions Held
He began his political career in 1972 with the Democratic Party when he was made Senator for Georgia; he retained this position until 1997. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of the charitable body: Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) an organisation attempting to reduce the threat of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.[3]
He is known to be an informal advisor to President Barack Obama.[4] Both men share an ideal of securing nuclear weapons. Many people, including Jimmy Crater, believed he would be chosen as Vice President in Obama’s presidency, although it was Joe Bidden who gained this position.
