Stephan Schmidheiny is a key figure in the business lobby for sustainable development and CSR. Schmidheiny was instrumental in organising the business lobby on sustainable development at the Rio Earth Summit in 1992, [2] where he was Principal Advisor for Business and Industry to the summit's Secretary General, Maurice Strong. He founded the Business Council for Sustainable Development and is now honorary chairman of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. [3]
