we need to put in full refs to protect our readers from 'dead' weblinks as stuff is moved around the web or removed, and for that we need to give full refs. Also the links need not to be embedded in the body text but pointing to the numbered refs at foot of page. you will see it explained at the referencing guide. if not clear let me know...
