Richard Ayre is a member of the board of the Food Standards Agency and an advisor to Sense About Science. He was Deputy Chief Executive of BBC News and the Corporation's controller of editorial policy, responsible for ethical and editorial standards in BBC programme making. [1] He is the independent freedom of information adjudicator for the Law Society [2] and was appointed a Civil Service Commissioner in 2005. [3]
