Johnny Cameron is the former head of the Royal Bank of Scotland's investment banking division, which was largely responsible for the taxpayer bailed-out bank's billions of pounds of bad debts.
In 2010 the Financial Services Authority (FSA) banned Cameron from taking on a full-time job in the City although did not find him guilty of any regulatory breaches. It said Cameron "would not meet its current standards" but allowed him to carry out part-time consultancy work. According to the Evening Standard:
- Cameron has already been blocked from two senior posts. The FSA stopped him taking on a role at City advisory firm Greenhill while the investigation was going on and he was forced to quit headhunter Odgers Berndtson days after joining when UK Financial Investments - which manages state-owned banking assets - withdrew a contract from the firm. [1]
