MI5 S Branch was a division of the Security Service formed in 1976 with responsibility for management services.[1][1]
At the time of its formation it took over responsibility for the MI5 training section from B Branch.[2]
According to the organograms in Christopher Andrew's authorised history of MI5, S Branch was responsible for 'support services' including the MI5 registry in 1988.[3]
In 1991, it was responsible for 'support services; Registry; major project management; information management.'[4]
By 1994, it had been incorporated into H Branch.[2]
