Lynne Featherstone

Lynne Featherstone was the Liberal Democrats member of Parliament (MP) for Hornsey and Wood Green for 2005 to 2015. She was a parliamentary under-secretary at the Home Office from 2010 to 2012, and thereafter at the Department for International Development.[1]

Featherstone lost her seat at the 2015 general election to the Labour Party's Catherine West by 11,058 votes.[2]

Background

Featherstone was elected to Haringey Council in 1998, a position she held until 2006. In 2000 she was elected to the London Assembly, an elected watchdog for the capital made up of 25 Assembly Members. She chaired the Transport Committee, served on the Health and Standards Committees and served on the Metropolitan Police Authority. [3] Featherstone also served as the Liberal Democrats’ International Development spokesperson in 2006, before becoming their Youth and Equalities spokesperson in 2007.
