Dr. William McCrea was a Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) Member of Parliament (MP) for South Antrim, and is a former DUP MLA for South Antrim and also represented Mid Ulster. McCrea entered Parliament on 9 June 1983 – General election. He entered the Assembly on 25 June 1998 – General election and resigned from the Assembly on 1 July 2010.[1]

McCrea lost his seat in Antrim in the 2015 general election to the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP)'s Danny Kinahan by 949 votes.[2]
