Captain Barak Raz is the IDF Judea and Samaria Division (West Bank) Spokesman.[1]
Raz joined the IDF Spokesperson's Unit in 2008 as an operations officer in the foreign press branch. He ran a vlog during Operation Cast Lead. In 2010, he was appointed head of the North American Media desk and promoted to captain. He became spokesman for the Judea and Samaria Division of the IDF Central Command in 2011.[2]
Pillar of Cloud
During Operation Pillar of Cloud against the Gaza strip in November 2012, Raz took part in the #HamasBumperStickers meme, tweeting " #HamasBumperStickers I fired ten rockets and all I got was this lousy bumper sticker". The meme was subsequently picked up by his colleague Peter Lerner.[3]
