BritainandAmerica was a blog associated with Tim Montgomerie and was the predecessor to America in the World. It was in operation for around sixteen months from November 2006 and announced its closure on 23 February 2008.[1] It stated that its purpose was 'Offering an urgently needed alternative to the anti-Americanism of much European media, BritainAndAmerica provides a daily examination of the shared interests of two great nations. This blog believes that a strong transatlantic relationship is vital for a safe, just and prosperous world.' [2]
