The European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC) was established in 2004 as the European Travel Retail Council, in 2012 the name was changed from Council to Confederation. The ETRC is an industry trade association that represents the interests of producers and retailers of duty free goods and in Europe's travel industry. ETRC works with European institutions and policy makers and claims to be "composed of direct corporate membership and national trade associations representing over 500 European companies." [1] The group is run by a full time secretariat in both Brussels and Paris.
Background & History
The European Travel Retail Council (ETRC) was established in 2004 by the board of the International Travel Retail Confederation (ITRC) who accepted the recommendation from the Strategic Working Group on Reorganisation to establish a trade association dedicated to working at the European level.
