-Paul, nice effort on Tanter (and generally). I never said that Singer fired Tanter. I doubt he was chair of the dept when T left. What I said was, that Singer, as a young faculty member, helped recruit Tanter to UM, and later decided it was "the biggest disaster of my career" (informally, to me) If you want more, you should ask yourself. Singer would probably approve of your web site and might help.
