Franklin Foer is an author, journalist and current editor of the New Republic.[1] TNR owner and editor-in-chief Martin Peretz's decision to give Foer the position (Foer reviously worked for TNR as a staff writer) to replace Peter Beinart in 2006 was reportedly surprised many including Foer who "had never edited and wondered why anyone would want to take on an editor’s headaches."[2]
