Her previous role was as the Head of Media and Communications at the [[Stockholm Network]], before which she worked in consumer public relations in Sydney. After graduating from Bristol University in 2001, Cara was appointed as [[Iain Duncan Smith]]'s Constituency Secretary. From 2003 – 2005 Cara was Director of the [[Atlantic Bridge]] think tank which she left to work for [[Michael Howard]] during the 2005 general election, forming part of his campaign team which toured the UK.
