The communications and security systems corporation Telent was formerly the business arm of Marconi Corporation. Telent was created in 2006.[1] Telent is a communications and security systems corporation.[2]

1900: GEC was floated as a public limited company.[5]
1961: GEC took over Radio and Allied Industries.[6]
1963: Arnold Weinstock became managing director of GEC.[7]
1964: GEC acquired Cannon Cookers.[8]
1974-1987: GEC acquired Yarrow Shipbuilders, Avery, Picker, and Creda.[9]
1989: GEC and Siemens took over Plessey. GEC acquired Plessey's naval systems and avionics business.[10]
