Jonathan Steele is a long-time Guardian correspondent.

Humanitarian interventionist

On 24 January 2008, Jonathan Steele appeared on an ICA panel together with Clare Short, Anthony Dworkin, and David Chandler. Both Steele and Short put forward the notion that the NATO intervention in Kosovo and Bosnia had been examples of successful humanitarian interventions. If those had been so successful, then it behooved NATO to do this again, but then not to delay in its implementation. Steele approved of the humanitarian intervention and thought it had implications for the intervention in Iraq.[1]
