John Nicolson was appoointed to the board of S&N in 2000 as chairman of greater Europe and USA. Nicholson is primarily responsible for the Scottish & Newcastle's business interests in Belgium, Portugal and Greece, as well as the American market which although the key importer of Newcastle Brown Ale is still regarded by S&N as a 'venture market'. Nicolson's position is key to the expansion of the business and as such the activities and development of Baltic Beveridges Holdings(BBH) are central to his remit.
John Nicolson's career has mainly been in marketing, and has worked for ICI, Brooke Bond, and Unilever.
