I ; Mr. [[A. L. Green]] was elected Vice- President in place of Mr. [[R. Karter]], who has resigned. Mr. [[Ellis Levenson]] was elected Hon. Secretary and Study Circle Convener. - An essay competition, open to all members, is being run by the society. Wolfson]], who was in the chair, introduced the speakers who were Prof. [[S. Lazarus]] and Mr. [[L., Woolfson]]. The subject was “Jew in the Profession.” Prof. Lazarus, who was the first speaker, traced the Jewish contribution to medicine from the biblical days up io the present day. Mr. [[Louis Woolfson]]. who spoke of “The Jew in Pharmacy,” - outlined the contribution of Jewish Pharmacists in Palestine and spoke of his own personal experiences in his profession. Messrs. Greenberg, Joels, Davidson, Chazan, Isaacs and Speculand, took part in the discussion. The chairman then announced that the next meeting on Sunday, January 5th, would be addressed by Mr. S. All surplus funds derived from the various social activities during the next few years are to be devoted to the project. Mr. Furst spoke of the satisfaction felt at the creation of a Junior Zionist Group for 14- to 17-year-olds which in a short time had built up a large and enthusiastic membership A message of greetings was received from Mr. [[Edward Woolfson]] J.P. Hon. This was stated at the annual meeting Mr. Cyril Furst and Mr Edwin Mandel. All surplus funds derived from the various social activities during the next few years are to be devoted to the project. Mr. Furst spoke of the satisfaction felt at the creation of a Junior Zionist Group for 14- to 17-year-olds which in a short time had built up a large and enthusiastic membership A message of greetings was received from Mr. Edward Woolfson J.P. Hon. Life-President of the organisation, who has in the past 18 successive years delivered the Presidential Address at the annual general meeting, but was unable to be present on this occasion.[7]
