Angus Energy was awarded five oil and gas licence blocks covering about half of the Isle of Wight in 2015 under the Oil and Gas Authority's 14th licensing round in autumn 2015.
It is a partner of UK Oil and Gas Investments. [1] In 2016 it said it planned to conduct '2D seismic surveying' and drill five new shale wells.

Brockham field in Surrey
Angus began a well test programme at Brockham in December 2018, but the flow test did not achieve sustainable flows of oil.
In June 2019 Angus Energy announced that the Kimmeridge formation at Brockham would not produce commercial quantities from the Brockham X4z well without fracking. As a result, it said it was considering selling the Brockham field.
Shares in Angus Energy dropped 60% after the company's admission.[2]
