Jason McCartney, MP for Colne Valley

Jason McCartney is a Conservative Party politician who was the MP for Colne Valley from 2010 until May 2017. He lost his seat at the June 2017 election to the Labour Party candidate Thelma Walker, a head schoolteacher.

Political career

McCartney was first elected in May 2010 with a majority vote of 4,837 [1] and again in 2015 with a majority of 5,378. [2]

McCartney was also a member of the House of Commons Transport select committee. [3]

In January 2015 he was one of only six Conservative MPs who voted at Westminster for a fracking moratorium.
