Jon Trickett has been the Labour Party MP for Hemsworth since 1996.[1] He was Gordon Brown's parliamentary private secretary between 2008 and 2010.[2]

In the 2015 general election Trickett was re-elected with a majority of 12,078. [3]

Trickett has been appointed Shadow Communities Secretary by Jeremy Corbyn following the party's 2015 leadership election. [4]

Trickett is working with Jeremy Corbyn in his bid to replace Ed Miliband as the leader of the Labour Party.[5]
