John Pugh has been the Liberal Democrats MP for Southport since 2001. he has served as: Shadow Spokesperson (Education) 2002-05, Shadow Minister (Transport) 2005-06, Shadow Minister (Health) 2006-07, Shadow Minister (Treasury) 2008-10 and Shadow Minister (Health) 2009-10.[1]

In the 2015 general election, Pugh retained his sear with a majority of 1,322. [2]
