Tom Clarke was a UK Labour Party MP in various constituencies from 1982 until the May 2015 general election when he lost his seat by 11,501 votes to the Scottish National Party (SNP) candidate Philip Boswell after a huge increase in popularity for the SNP.[1]

Clarke had served as MP for Coatbridge and Airdrie from 1982 to 1983; Monklands West from 1983 to 1997; Coatbridge and Chryston from 1997 to 2005; and Coatbridge, Chryston and Bellshill from 2005 to 2015.[2] Clarke entered Parliament on 24 June 1982 – unknown.[3]
