Robert Webb QC is general counsel at Rolls Royce, and a non-executive director at corporate intelligence agency Hakluyt and the London Stock Exchange.
Career
Having read law at university, Webb was called to the Bar in 1971 and appointed a QC in 1988. He was head of chambers at 5 Bell Yard between 1988-1998 and a Recorder of the Crown Court from 1993-1998.[1]
Webb has held positions as a non-executive director of the BBC's Executive Board, non-executive chairman of BBC Worldwide and was chairman of the BBC Commercial Holdings Board. He was general counsel at British Airways from 1998 to 2009.[1]
In 2012 he became general counsel at Rolls Royce. He has also been a non-executive director of Hakluyt since 2005; replacing Anthony Hammond as legal counsel[2], and a non-executive director at the London Stock Exchange since 2001.[3]
