- 31 - Senior UDA figure Tommy English shot dead by the UVF at his home in Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim.[1] Policing Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan later links RUC "informant 1" Mark Haddock to the killing.[2]
November
- 22 - Police Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan is asked to investigate a complaint by the Committee for the Administration of Justice about RUC intimidation of murdered solicitor Rosemary Nelson.[3]
