BritainandAmerica was a blog associated with Tim Montgomerie and was the predecessor to America in the World. It was in operation for around eighteen months and announced its closure on 23 February 2008.[1] It stated that its purpose was 'Offering an urgently needed alternative to the anti-Americanism of much European media, BritainAndAmerica provides a daily examination of the shared interests of two great nations. This blog believes that a strong transatlantic relationship is vital for a safe, just and prosperous world.' [2]
