Tasking and Co-ordinating Groups (TCGs) were set up in Northern Ireland in the late 1970s to enhance co-operation between the RUC and the Army. The first TCG, serving the Belfast Region, was set up at Castlereagh in 1978. A second was created to serve the RUC's South Region at Gough Barracks in 1979, and a third was later created in Derry for the North Region. These were normally known as TCG Belfast, TCG South and TCG North respectively.[1]
