- Studied at Rostock University, Marine Engineering Department, graduated in engineering (1975-1979). Barth shipbuilding and ship repair yard (1979-1990). MGT Maschinen- und Gerätebau GmbH (Teterow), marketing management; management representative for plant design in the DIEHL Group (1999-2001). Entrepreneur (since 2005).
- Member of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Regional Executive of the CDU.
- Mayor of Ostseebad Zingst (1990-1992). Head of administration in the Ribnitz-Damgarten district (1992-1994). Member of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Regional Assembly (since 2006).
