Sir Hugh Stevenson joined the Financial Services Authority (FSA) Board as a non-executive director in June 2004, serving as Deputy Chairman during 2010, his final year with the FSA.

Career

Stevenson was Chairman of Equitas Limited, and The Merchants Trust Plc (2000-2010) and a non-executive director of Standard Life (1999-2008).

He was a Managing Director of S.G. Warburg's investment banking business from 1987 to 1995 and Chairman of Mercury Asset Management Group plc from 1992 until 1998. He began his career at Linklaters & Paines solicitors after graduating from University College Oxford. He later took the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.[1]

Hugh is also a non-executive director of the British Museum Company and Chairman of Great Ormond Street Hospital's Redevelopment Board.
