Bundesamt für Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit (BVL) is the German Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety.
BVL describes its role as follows:
- In a network of European authorities, the BVL acts on enforcing the consumer protection laws based on EU standards. It thereby acts on the basis of Regulation (EC) No 2006/2004 on Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) and the EC Consumer Protection Enforcement Act.[1]
