Care UK is a private health and social care company operating in the UK. Services it provides include: running 12 GP Led Healthcare Centres, 4 Out of Hours services, 2 NHS Walk-in Centres, 10 NHS Treatment Centres, providing surgery and diagnostic tests for over 37,000 patients each year. It also runs 57 nursing and / or residential care homes.[1]
Political connections and lobbying
In November 2009, John Nash made a donation of £21,000 to then shadow health secretary Andre Lansley, now secretary of state for Health. Nash and his wife Caroline are regular Tory donors who have given £107,000 to the party since 2006.[2]
Care UK employs lobbying firm Portland PR.[3]
