David Abraham Schreiber (GRO David A Schreiber, 1947 Q3, Staines, mother’s maiden name Weinstock; Companies House date of birth July 1947; officer ID Sz2LMUYCH3MTns4TTsk-UT0Q9vc) is a British director and trustee, resident in Israel on his remaining active appointment.[1][2]
He married Ruth M Merel (GRO 1947 Q3, Staines, maiden Diller) in Hendon, 1967 Q3.[3][4] She is the artist Ruth Schreiber (Enter the Eruv; Letters from My Grandparents).
He is not David Schreiber (August 1952, Midos Group) or David Schreiber (born 1976).
Family
Chaim Samuel Schreiber (1918–1984) married Sara Weinstock in London in 1942. Three children. David compiled The Weinstock Letters: 1939–1948 on his mother’s Kindertransport generation.[5]
After Chaim died in May 1984, press histories say “his son David” took Schreiber Furniture, closed Hoddesdon, concentrated Runcorn, and sold in August 1987 (management buy-in, Bob Thornton and Stanley Cohen, about £16 million). MFI bought the brand in 1988.[6]
Address match. Dissolved Schreiber Holdings Limited (00415439) uses 9 West Heath Road, NW3 7UX — Schreiber House, listed Grade II for C.S. Schreiber.[7]
Marriage and children
Hendon 1967 Q3 marriage to Ruth Merel.[3] Community Chronicle, 17 December 1993, names Benji Schreiber, son of eruv committee member David Schreiber, as the person who recorded a tape used at the North-West London eruv inquiry.

United Synagogue eruv committee spokesman, then chairman. Hendon, 1987, after Rabbi Alan Kimche asked for a committee. Inauguration 2003 after a 15-year planning fight (Barnet; inspector David Bushby; John Gummer).[8]

JMR: moved to Jerusalem in 1995, stayed on the committee, travelled back. Ruth’s Enter the Eruv (2011) is dedicated to that campaign.[9]
In June 1994 the Birmingham Daily Post, in a feature on road rage, named a David Schreiber, “an elder of the United Synagogue”, who “jumped out of his Mercedes and punched a Buddhist monk who was driving a Nissan Micra” in a London traffic jam.[10] That description matches this United Synagogue / furniture-line David, not David Schreiber (August 1952) of the 1986 gold-VAT trial.
