Toby Winocour is a young Scottish Zionist activist in his early twenties from the Winocour family, a Glasgow-based network long involved in promoting Zionist causes across Scotland.[1] He combines work in auditing with part-time roles advancing pro-Israel narratives and monitoring media coverage of the Middle East.[1]

Winocour's activities form part of wider family efforts to support Israeli interests and counter criticism of Israeli policies under the framing of combating antisemitism.

Professional career

Toby Winocour works as an Audit Associate at Grant Thornton UK LLP in Glasgow, focusing on finance, client relations and internal controls across sectors including whisky, insurance and manufacturing.[1]

He also acts as a part-time 'BBC Media Accuracy Reporter' for the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis UK (CAMERA), a pro-Israel group that scrutinises media reporting on Israel and the Middle East from a partisan perspective.[1]

Zionist advocacy and activities

As Social Media Manager for Glasgow Friends of Israel, Toby Winocour produces content supporting Israel advocacy and collaborates with other Jewish activists to advance organisational goals.[1]

In 2024 he co-founded Keter Media, an influencer marketing agency aimed at elevating Jewish voices and pairing brands with selected influencers to promote pro-Israel messaging.[1]

Winocour appears as a collaborator with Scotland Against Antisemitism, an organisation that condemns violence against Israelis while linking pro-Palestinian slogans such as "Free Palestine" to antisemitism.[2]

Toby Winocour listed among collaborators in a Scotland Against Antisemitism post that equates criticism of Israel with antisemitism.

These roles position him within networks that defend Israeli state actions and seek to delegitimise Palestinian solidarity movements.

Family and networks

Toby Winocour is the son of Paul Anthony Winocour, a Zionist activist and vice-chair of Jewish Care Scotland, and his wife, Helena Winocour who is also active in Zionist causes.[3] He has a sibling, Evie.

The broader Winocour family maintains extensive connections in Scottish Zionist circles, often described as part of the Cousinhood of Scottish Zionism. Relatives include Richard Alan Winocour, who is a settler colonist in occupied Palestine.[3]
