Young Enterprise Scotland is based inside [[Strathclyde University]] in Glasgow. According to the [[Royal Bank of Scotland]] who set up [[Young Enterprise Scotland]] as part of their Corporate Responsibility work:

:Young Enterprise Scotland provides young people (from 15 to 17) at school in Scotland, with a real life insight into work and enterprise. We are sole sponsor of Young Enterprise Scotland's 17 regional award events and the national awards ceremony.

:Students create their own limited companies.
:The Royal Bank of Scotland provides them with free banking services and support towards the core operating costs. Each Young Enterprise company has a Business Advisor, a volunteer from the business world who acts as their own personal consultant or non-executive Director.

:The experience gained includes raising capital to establish the business, developing a business plan and managing a company.
