'''André Kaspi''', (born 15 October 1937) is a French historian specialising in the history of the United States of America.

From 1998 to 2006, André Kaspi was Professor of History of North America at [[Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne]] and director if the [[Centre de Recherches d'Histoire Nord-Américaine]] (CRHNA).  

==Views on anti-semitism==

In an interview with ''Yad Vashem'':

:History Professor Andre Kaspi (Sorbonne , Paris) explains whythis wave differs from past ones by stressing its unique characteristics: "First, it docs not resemble the widespread antisemitism that conquered France in the I930s, as it is not fueled by the extreme right. Second, the current phenomenon is connected to events in the Middle East, indicating an entirely different dimension. And third, only a small fraction of France's population participates in these events; most of the French denounce antisemitism and protest against it.... 

:Professor Kaspi adds that "it ~ almost impossible to teach the Holocaust in schools where most students are second gcneration North-African immigrants. There is a total rejection of all historical fucts that, allegedly, support the enemy's side."...
