Karren Brady (Baroness Brady) is the vice-chairman of West Ham FC.

She became a Conservative peer in the House of Lords on the 22 September 2014.[1]

Career

Brady's career began when she was 18 and managed to get herself a place on the graduate scheme at Saatchi & Saatchi without even going to university. She was then spotted by Businessman David Gold when she sold him advertising at London's LBC radio station and was hired to work at his Sunday Sport tabloid newspaper. After Gold and his business partner David Sullivan bought Birmingham City FC in 1993, Brady was appointed managing director at the age of 23. Sullivan and Gold sold their stakes in Birmingham in 2009 and in 2010 bought West Ham FC, where Brady was installed as vice-chairman.[2]

In 2010 Brady was installed as one of the mentors on Lord Sugar's BBC business programme The Apprentice.

Politics

Brady has been a supporter of the Conservative Party since she was 18 during the Thatcher government.[2]

Letter to the Telegraph

On 1 April 2015 Brady was one of 103 business leaders who wrote to the Telegraph praising the British Conservative Party's economic policies and claiming a Labour government would 'threaten jobs and deter investment' in the UK.[3]
