Tony Froggatt was appointed Chief Executive of [1] Scottish & Newcastle in May 2003. Tony started his career with the Gillette Company, and has held a wide range of sales, marketing and management positions in many countries, with major consumer goods companies including Heinz and IDV. His last appointment before joining S&N, was as President – Europe, Middle East and Africa for Seagram Spirits & Wine Group. He is also a non-executive director of Brambles plc.

Tony is a collector of historical autographs and proudly boasts about his collection, which includes Jimi Hendrix, Lord Nelson, Napolean and a signed photograph of Winston Churchill's. [2]

At a conference hosted jointly in Toyko by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, the Times, and the Japanese paper Yomiuri Shimbun to discuss Japan's political and economic renaissance, was attended by the S&N chief. Froggatt joined the News International chairman, Les Hinton, and the BSkyB chief executive, James Murdoch at the conference where the highlight was Tony Blair's talk to delegates via satellite and take questions. Also present were the Times Newspapers managing director, Paul Hayes, and his director of trading, Dominic Carter, Sir Martin Sorrell, the chief executive of advertising group WPP is to attend, as are a number of British executives, including Tony Froggatt, the chief executive of brewer Scottish and Newcastle, and Alan Parker, the chairman of City PR firm Brunswick.
